...I have to admit I was a bit anxious when I knew I was working out with LA. I had overhead someone say he wanted to train me last when I was strong. I warmed up on the elliptical then we 'hit it.' His workout was also quite intense and hard. He noticed at some point I wasn't smiling anymore (ha ha)....The worst for me was the push ups.
I never could do them, but I tried as best I could. My arms burned so bad I just wanted to give up...but I wanted to keep going. He said it was important to keep your form even when your tired. He said mine was good and I was able to finish all the reps. He explained my core just wasn't in the stomach area, so we worked a lot on legs, gluts and back. Squats, squats, squats. He informed me I was gonna be 'sore tomorrow', and I believed him. In between my circuits he had me walk very fast on the treadmill. He asked if I ran, I said no, tho I eventually got into a slow trot! LA was very informative and explained what happens when your muscle tissue is torn down and about lactic acid. He said that I should do cardio the next day, to allow my muscles to rebuild. He showed me some cool stretching I can do on my own which was very effective. 2 hours after his workout and my body still felt like a rubber band. A hot shower and 2 tylenol and I was off to bed. THANKS LA!!! I appreciated our session and your expertise!
note: Guess what! I'm actually enjoying running (slowly) on the treadmill now!
