...I have certain goals on the elliptical machine. My first was surpassing 700 calories in 42 minutes, level 16, 3.71 miles, with the aerobics x-training program. It was tough tho, especially when you had to pedal backwards and push/pull with your arms. That's what I accomplished the first month of training on my cardio days. This second month, I've noticed something different.
My calorie level dropped almost by 200, BUT, my fastest speed during one rotation went from 6.5 mph to 7.3!
The pushing and pulling seemed too light at level 16, and I went farther~4.13 miles!!! So, something is definitely happening. D, one of my early trainers explained it to me. I do believe I'm building up lean muscle mass if I remember what he said correctly. Good thing we had that conversation, or I would have probably been disappointed at my findings. This is one good reason why EVERYONE, no matter how fit you may be or seem, needs a personal trainer. These folks are knowledgeable. Hats off to the ones I work with, they are the BEST!
